Stereogum’s Strokes Tribute feat. Chelsea Wolfe
We just received transmission via pitchfork.com that Stereogum has released a Strokes tribute album featuring our friend, Los Angeles based witchhouse meets electronic folk artist Chelsea Wolfe.
Chelsea and her band were houseguests of ours during SXSW where we got to witness an eerie and stunning performance at the newly revamped Hotel Vegas. Wolfe, a siren-like singing sorceress with crystal blue eyes and porcelain skin remained mysteriously garbed in heavy dark textiles and a black lace veil throughout the entire set.
The tribute compilation, featuring 11 of Stereogum’s favorite indie groups pays homage to The Strokes first album Is This It and marks 10 years since their debut. We could not be more pleased to see Chelsea’s group pop up alongside indie heavies such as Peter Bjorn and John, Owen Pallett and others. Click HERE to listen to the full album!
