SXSW is here again! As in previous years, we are happy to be able to book some of our friends and bands we like from all over the world! This year our number of unofficial SX shows has gone up from one to seven. We have bands from not just here, but acts coming from China, Denmark and Canada. We have shows happening starting Wednesday March 14th and going through Saturday March 17th. All are free and most are all ages. We really hope you’ll look up some of these bands, come to one (or more) of these shows and get a chance to discover some new music that you really like!
We are very happy to have DIY legend R. Stevie Moore headlining the show. After several decades of home recordings and building a loyal cult following, he went on his first tour ever just last year. In 1996 “Phonography” was listed among “the fifty most significant indie records” in Rolling Stone’s Alt-Rock-A-Rama. We think this will be a very special performance you won’t want to miss. Recently reunited indie/pop group Belaire will also be at Emerald City Limits. They will be playing their first shows in a very long time next week and this is a great chance to catch them. They don’t play shows very often! Instrumental viola/drums/synth duo Talkdemonic recently signed to Isaac Brock’s label Glacial Pace and have been touring behind their new release “Ruins.” Singer-songwriter Emily Elbert will make a stop in Austin at ECL before continuing on her tour schedule which includes a performance at this year’s Bonnaroo. The lineup also includes Ryat, who are releasing their next album “Totem” on Flying Lotus label Brainfeeder, the psych rock of Sisters of Your Sunshine Vapor and Cloudland Canyon, post-rockers My Education and several more.
Plus, on the 29th Street Ballroom stages, Austin Psych Fest and Sailor Jerry are having their Levitation which is also free and features an amazing lineup with Growlers, Crystal Antlers, Sleepy Sun and more!
We have booked two days at The Highball Thursday March 15th and Friday March 16th.
Day 1 March 15th is a mixture of dance, rock and psychedelic, our lineup includes: frequent Flaming Lips collaborators Stardeath and White Dwarfs, Electric Flower Group featuring Imaad Wasif and Josh Garza formerly of The Secret Machines, rising Dallas dance outfit ISHI, retro-revivalists The Hi-Tones, the loud and jagged rock of Megafauna and more.
We are doing three days of recording sessions at the brand new East Side Tone recording studio. This is a very small studio so there will be very limited space and if you want to get in we recommend getting there early. Several amazing bands playing including Love Inks, The Ettes, Schmillion, Botany, Talkdemonic, Dana Falconberry, Shakey Graves and so many more.
Our first show of the week takes place at Cedar Street Courtyard. A really great Austin venue, this will be our first show here. Lineup includes The Clouds Are Ghosts, Little Lo, Burning Hotels, Love Hate Affair and more.

EMERALD CITY LIMITS
We are so happy to announce our upcoming collaboration with $2 Shows Austin and Connect The Dots Fest called Emerald City Limits. It is happening on Thursday, March 15th at Spider House Cafe including a stage in their parking lot. This show is an all day, all ages, multi-stage event! We will start releasing the lineup next week.
